Roger Duke studied sculpture at Kingston School of Art. Following this he began a long career dealing in art & antiques. During this time, he attended evening classes in the Ceramics Department at Kingston Adult Education under the tutelage of George Wilson and Derek Northfiel.
Roger moved to Suffolk in 2013, where he set up his own studio. His work consists of hand-built stoneware vases and plaques decorated with slips, oxides and stains . Roger had a fascination in the graphic quality of white on dark clay combined,  with sgraffito and colour washes.
